WHY CHOOSE THE LINK SOURCE FOR YOUR NETWORK CABLING

Network Cabling: List

100% COPPER CABLES

Some companies may skip out on quality by choosing a cheaper copper clad aluminum (CCA) cable. These cables are inferior to standard 100% copper cables.

  • Aluminum and Steel have a much higher resistance than that of the copper. The use of CCA wire in Cat5e patch cables and CAT6 patch cables can lead to large amounts of data loss and can eventually lead to slow data speeds.

CMP RATED CABLES

CMP cable stands for "Communications Multipurpose Cable, Plenum" It is a cable jacket fire resistance rating defined in Article 800 of the NEC. Many office buildings and fire code require the use of CMP cable as a safety precaution. CMP cable is also referred to as “plenum-rated cable” and is constructed to restrict flame propagation to no more than five feet and limit the amount of smoke emitted during a fire. Since air travels throughout a building via plenum spaces, it is critical that cables installed in such spaces use material in the construction of the jacket which don’t give off toxic fumes if burned.
