Windows 11 is not for business

On October 4, 2021, Microsoft officially released Windows 11 to the general public. With excitement for a new version, we quickly applied for early access. We were granted early access to Windows 11 and have been testing it out for a few months. Does this new version make sense for you?

1. Early Bugs

For the most part, Windows 11 runs much like Windows 10. In fact, it's based on the same original coding. However, there are several annoyances that I experienced when using Windows 11. One major one was a delay in Microsoft Teams video meetings. Many times, I would see major delays or even a non-response in teams meetings.

2. Little Specialized Testing

If your business runs specialized software, Windows 11 should be QA'd against your Line Of Business Applications. Many software vendors have not tested against Windows 11 and skipping this step could be disastrous if not handled properly.

3. Not All Devices are approved

Windows 11 is still going through the approval process of getting compatible devices added to their upgrade path. However, the requirements of the new version of Windows are more stringent than ever. Unless you have a recent computer with certain features, your computer may not be determined as an approved device.
